Public Workshop: Zero Waste Draft Plan (HYBRID)

Last year, Lexington adopted a Zero Waste Resolution. The draft preliminary plan is now available for review.
Last year, Lexington adopted a Zero Waste Resolution. The draft preliminary plan (PDF) is now available for review.
At this workshop, we will look at Lexington's current waste data and dig into proposed actions that would allow also us to increase our diversion rate to 90% by 2050. After the presentation, join small breakout groups to discuss what is missing or what needs adjustment in the draft plan. The meeting will be run by Town staff, our Zero Waste consultant, and members of the Zero Waste Plan Working Group.
- The preliminary draft plan identifies the policies and programs that Lexington can pursue to reduce waste and increase recycling and composting.
- Recommended early actions include: potential changes to the collection system, outreach & education for residents, and assistance to businesses.
- We need your input to ensure that the strategies reflect the goals and vision of our community.
