Volunteer to Carry a Banner as a Parade Ambassador

Parade Ambassadors march in teams of 2 or 3 in front of a parade unit, carrying a banner with the name of the local business sponsor of that unit.

This is a great opportunity to participate in this nationally known event with a long history. No experience necessary! Parade Ambassadors receive complimentary tee shirts. High school students earn 4 hours of community service credit.

We encourage members of sports teams, academic teams, walking groups, civic organizations, friends, neighbors, and students to register. The minimum age is 12 years.

Responsibilities:

  • Parade Ambassadors assemble on Monday, April 17 at the East Lexington Fire Station, 1006 Massachusetts Avenue at 1 pm. Members of the Celebrations Committee will greet you, match you up with your team, hand out your banner, and escort you to your place in the parade lineup.
  • You are expected to complete the entire 2.5-mile parade route which takes approximately 1 to 2 hours start to finish, depending on your placement in the lineup.
