Appropriation Committee

Overview

The Appropriation Committee serves as the fiscal advisory body to Town Meeting and is charged with making recommendations on the prudent management of the financial affairs of the Town.

Prior to each Annual Town Meeting the Committee prepares and distributes a review of the budget recommended by the Select Board. The Committee's report provides advice and recommendations concerning the various appropriations of funds and any other municipal matters coming before the Meeting. Town Meeting may not act on any appropriation requests before this report is made.

Members must be registered voters in Lexington, with sound business experience and/or good judgment.
