Bedford / Hartwell Complete Streets Transportation Project
Soliciting your input!
On November 16, VHB, Inc., the Town's consultant, presented roadway cross sections alternatives for Bedford Street and Hartwell Avenue. We very much want your opinion of how - transportation wise - you want the roadway to look. Amenities and intersections will be discussed at a later date. For now we are looking at vehicle lanes, bike lanes, sidewalk/paths, etc. used to travel the roadway. Please view the presentation. Or Visit the virtual meeting room to view the presentation slides and leave comments or send comments to Sheila Page: spage@lexingtonma.gov Your comments will be forwarded to the design engineers. A recording of the meeting is posted on Lexmedia: November 16, 2023 Public Meeting
About the Project
Spring of 2021, the Town hired VHB, Inc. to develop 25% design level plans for complete streets reconstruction that addresses safety, traffic flow and pedestrian, bicycle, transit - alternative modes of transportation. VHB is currently conducting an existing conditions survey and collecting and analyzing environmental, land use, transportation and safety data. Special Fall Town Meeting 2019-1 appropriated $1,500,000 and Annual Town Meeting 2023 appropriated $1,750,000 for design and engineering services for this project.
