Where to Buy Passes and Tickets

Buy passes and tickets online via credit card or e-check or in person at the Lexington Community Center Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Ticket booklets can also be purchased at Michelson's Shoes (across from Depot Square), the Lexington High School main office, and at the Lexington Community Center.

Pass prices have been reduced to encourage cashless transactions, easier boarding, and financial accessibility. Buying a Lexpress bus pass not only saves you money, but you support your community! Lexpress has been open to all since 1979, and is used by seniors, people with disabilities, students, and the general public enhance their mobility options. Thanks for your support!

Ticket Prices

Save almost 30% over general cash fares by buying in advance! Ticket booklets are $20 for 14 tickets.

Ticket booklets can be purchased at Michelson's Shoes (across from Depot Square), the Lexington High School main office, and at the Lexington Community Center.

Credit card and eCheck purchases may be made at our online store. Online purchases are $40 for two booklets (28 total tickets) and can be mailed right to your door!

Drivers cannot make change. To keep the bus on time, have payment handy when you board. Lexpress does not accept MBTA CharlieCards at this time.

Transferring Between Routes

Transfers are free with a ticket or paid fare - just ask the driver for a transfer when you board and pay

Transfers are valid only on the day issued when boarding in Lexington Town Center and continuing a one-way trip on a different letter route

Seniors and Disabled riders

Seniors and riders with disabilities board FREE from 9:30 am through end of 1:30 pm routes. All buses are wheelchair accessible. 

Pre-tax commuter benefits

Employers are allowed to offer pre-tax transit benefits for your transit commute. Contact your Human Resources Department to find out if your company offers this service.

Policies

Using your pass

Passes are good for unlimited rides through the date listed on the face of the card. Passes are nontransferable - only the person whose name appears on the card may use the pass. Each time you board Lexpress, show the driver the front of your pass. If you do not have your pass, you must pay the cash fare or use a ticket.

Lost Lexpress passes

Replacement passes can be issued after the administrative fee is paid via cash or a check made out to the Town of Lexington. Mail or drop-off payment at the Lexington Community Center, 39 Marrett Road. Replacement costs are as follows:

  • General Rider Pass: $20
  • Senior or Disabled Rider Pass: $10

Refunds

Ticket books and cash paid onboard are non-refundable. Monthly or annual passes may be refunded under certain circumstances, at the discretion of the Lexpress Office. Please submit your pass refund request in writing to:
