The Department of Public Facilities (DPF) was created as a new department within the town of Lexington by joint resolution of the Municipal and School Departments and approved by Town Meeting in 2007.
The Department of Public Facilities (DPF) manages energy consumption and environmental conditions (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) for 23 public buildings.
Requests to rent space in Lexington Public School Buildings, Battin Hall at the Cary Memorial Building, and the Public Service Building are coordinated by the Department of Public Facilities.
