For over 75 years, the Lexington Fire Department has been providing an ambulance service to our citizens. Over those years we have stayed current with advances in emergency medicine and today provide advanced life support (ALS) as a standard.
Our highly trained staff is capable of providing the most advanced level of care on the scene. The department operates two ALS ambulance and has the ability to place a third ambulance in service for special events such as Patriots' Day.
We have two full-time 24/7 ambulances: Medic 1 out of Headquarters and Medic 2 out of East Lexington. We maintain mutual aid agreements with our neighboring communities to assist one another when needed.
