- May 12, 2023 - Please be advised that in accordance with United States Public law 103-322, Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on Sunday, May 14th, 2023 in honor of National Peace Officers Memorial Day.
- May 8, 2023 - Please be advised that as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act of violence perpetrated on May 6, 2023, in Allen, Texas, and in accordance with a Presidential Proclamation, Governor Maura T. Healey has ordered the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately today, until sunset on May 11, 2023.

Healey has ordered that the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag at all state buildings should remain at half-staff until sunset today, January 28, 2023.

Healey’s order the United States of America Flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag should remain at half-staff at all state buildings continuing until sunset on the day of interment, in honor of the life and legacy of former Senate President, Thomas F. Birmingham, who passed away on January 20, 2023.

Healey has ordered the United States of America flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately today, January 23, 2023, until sunset on January 26, 2023.
- January 22, 2023 - Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Maura T. Healey has ordered that the United States of America Flag and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings beginning immediately, until sunset on the day of interment, in honor of the life and legacy of former Senate President, Thomas F. Birmingham, who passed away on January 20, 2023.
The Select Board also maintains a flag status list. They have the authority to lower the flag on the Battle Green.
