National Public Health Week
It is that time of year! National Public Health Week will be from April 3 to 9th, 2023. Join us throughout the week to celebrate public health!
Every year, NPHW brings together communities to recognize the contributions of public health and highlight the issues that are pertinent to our nation’s health. This year, NPHW is focusing on “Centering and Celebrating Cultures in Health” to ensure everyone, in all communities, has a chance to live their best and healthiest life.
It is also Lexington’s Board of Health’s 140th birthday on April 19th! On April 9, 1883, Town Meeting voted in the very first Board of Health of the Town of Lexington. At the first Board of Health meeting on April 19, 1883, they voted on their first regulation on swill (garbage)!
