Description of Services:

The Office of Community Development integrates the different regulatory divisions of Building, Conservation, Health, Zoning, Board of Appeals and Historic Districts.  These separate departments were originally merged in 1992 into one office which has been focused to better serve the citizens, business permit holders and contractors by enhancing the  communication ability among all of these entities.

The Office of Community Development (OCD) seeks to protect and improve the quality of life of the citizenry by providing leadership in the promotion and preservation of a safe, healthy and desireable living and working environment.

  • The Office of Community Development integrates several different regulatory services in order to streamline code enforcement, outreach and educational services.
  • Through this collaborative effort, the OCD can better manage the many and varied changes that occur as the community develops.
  • The Office provides the community with a comprehensive perspective on the impact of regulations on both public and individual issues.
