|Massachusetts Department of Public Safety has sent out a Public Safety Advisory about the danger posed by heavy snow loads on roofs and the potential for roof collapses. Recent cold weather and repeated snowstorms have contributed to severe roof load conditions, and the short-term weather forecast is for potentially two more snowstorms over the next few days. The PSA includes information about the danger posed by heavy snow loads on roofs, and Dos and Donts of removing snow and ice from roofs and other areas.
Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) warns of potentially dangerous conditions due to severe snow loads on roofs. MEMA strongly encourages residents and businesses to have snow and ice cleared from roofs.
National Grid reminds customers to remove snow and ice that is overhanging a natural gas meter. Use caution and using a brush or broom is recommended. If you suspect a natural gas leak, call 1-800-233-5325 after leaving the house and, finding a safe environment.

Absentee Voting: You are eligible to vote via absentee Ballot if you will be absent from the Town on March 2, 2015 or you are physically unable to get to the polls, including for religious reasons. An Absentee Ballot Application is available at the Town Clerk’s Office or on the Office of the Secretary of State’s web site. Return completed application to the Town Clerk's Office, and we will mail you an absentee ballot or you may vote at the Town Clerk’s Office.
Swim tags go on sale. Non-Resident Swim Tags will be sold from Monday, March 2 through Friday, March 6 ONLY at the Lexington Recreation Department Office. Residents may also purchase swim tags beginning March 2.

Nominations are open for the 2015 Minuteman Cane Award (deadline is noon on Friday, March 20, 2015.)To be eligible a candidate must be:
- At least 80 years of age.
- A 15-year resident of Lexington.
- Currently active in the community.
- An inspiration to others and exhibit a creative approach to life through a choice of either a second career, hobby or volunteerism.
It’s Not Too Late to Get Vaccinated Against the Flu! If you have not been vaccinated, the Lexington Health Division recommends contacting your physician or local pharmacy. Limited doses of flu vaccine are available free of charge at the Lexington Health Division in the Town Office Building, 1625 Massachusetts Ave, while supplies last. Please email or call (781) 698-4509 to make an appointment with the Public Health Nurse.
Harvard's Ash Center recognizes Lexington's program to Increase Asian Residents' Civic Participation as a 2015 Bright Idea in democratic governance.
The Recreation Department is accepting applications for all Summer 2015 positions (aquatics, day camps, sports clinics, and tennis). The application deadline is Friday, March 6, 2015. Applicants must complete two applications: the employment application and the summer supplemental application.
2015 Town Meeting is scheduled to begin Monday, March 23. Information will be posted as it becomes available.
