The Transportation Safety Group is a Town Manager appointed Working Group which meets monthly to evaluate issues and concerns relative to traffic, transit, pedestrian, bicycle and parking safety. Recommendations are made to the Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager. The working group includes citizens and representatives of the Police, Public Works, Planning and School Departments. Liaisons from the Transportation Advisory, Bicycle Advisory and Sidewalk committees also participate.
Transportation Safety Requests
Traffic concerns that require immediate attention should be called in to the Dispatch Center at 781-862-1212 and a Police Officer will be dispatched as needed.
Also, transportation safety concerns may exist in your neighborhood such as crosswalks and signage that you wish to review. You may address these concerns in the following ways.
- You may complete a Transportation Safety Request Form and submit it via email to firstname.lastname@example.org or U.S. Mail to Lexington Police Dept, 1575 Mass Ave, Lexington Ma 02420 Attn: Cpt. Michael McLean.

The Police Department reviews all traffic concerns to assess safety issues and identify where consultation with staff from the Engineering, Planning or School Departments is needed. Discussing these issues in the Traffic Safety Group facilitates coordination among different departments.
